PUT A DEVIL ON THE LEFT, AN ANGEL ON THE RIGHT. I'M ALREADY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIGHT. AND ROUND AND ROUND AND ROUND AND ROUND IT GOES. PART OF ME'S IN HEAVEN, PART OF ME'S IN HELL. PART OF ME IS STRUGGLING TRYING TO FIND MY WAY THROUGH LIFE.
Brynn Lee Anne Prescott was never supposed to be born. At least, that was the joke she liked tell people she met when she was younger after learning about the story behind her birth herself. While her conception had been entirely planned, and the Prescotts were delighted to learn they were expecting after nearly two years of trying, the doctors had been mistaken about the sex of the child. Bryan Lee Prescott III and his wife, Candace, had been prepared for a baby boy. They had been elated at the gender reveal and knew immediately that their baby boy would carry on the Prescott family name. Needless to say, when the doctors handed Candace a beautiful baby girl after seventeen hours of labor, her immediate reaction had been to burst into tears. They had already painted the nursery and received some gifts with the name inscribed on them. Though hesitant, they decided to keep the name until one of the nurses suggested the name Brynn—all they would have to do is modify one letter. Candace loved the idea and added another middle of Anne (after her own grandmother) to feminize the name a little more.

Brynn Lee grew up on a farm so it came as no surprise to those around her that she was more of a tomboy as child than anything else. She enjoyed spending time out on the tractor with her father and looking after the animals—her favorite animal on the farm being an American Quarter Horse she named Diamond due to the white diamond-shaped mark on the horse’s face. Coincidentally enough, the horse was male almost forming some sort of bond between the two.

Aside from her chores around the house, Brynn was also fairly active in high school. She was a part of both the FFA and 4H clubs beginning in middle and added the National Honor Society to her repertoire in high school. Outside of school, Brynn also participated in a youth soccer program. While she did attempt school sports, she quickly learned that there was just not enough time in the day for her to be involved in so many activities, especially ones that required multiple days a week practice after school.

High school was a major turning point for Brynn. She started spending less time working on the farm and more time hanging with her friends. She discovered makeup and hair styling products, and her mother claims (loving, of course) that it was in those moments that a monster was created. Slowly but surely, Brynn began to shed her tomboy image opting for dressier styles of clothing instead of her usual jeans and a t-shirt look.

By her junior year of high school, Brynn had transformed from an “ugly duckling” into a beautiful swan. At least, that’s the story she would give you. Her mother would tell you that she was always beautiful, but junior year was when she became involved with the local pageant circuit. One of her friends convinced her to enter the Tennessee State Fair pageant where she placed 3rd runner-up. From that moment, she was hooked.

Her pageant career was short-lived, however. Not only did she get an extremely late start to the game, but her lack of self-control also played a big part in cutting the pageantry lifestyle before it ever had the chance of going anywhere. An unexpected and unwanted pregnancy with a boy she had been casually dating got her disqualified and removed from the Miss Tennessee USA pageant where she had been a favorite to place. Bitter, angry, ashamed, and in no way ready to become a mother, Brynn terminated the pregnancy much to the father’s relief. It has been a decision that she’s regretted ever since.

Certain that she would never get anywhere in the pageant world again with such a blemish on her record even though she technically did not have a child, Brynn began applying to school. She’d always known she was going to go to college, but up until then, her plan had to become a Volunteer at the University of Tennessee. Wanting to escape the heartland of her embarrassment, she applied to several schools out of state with no real idea of where she wanted to go. Because of her Honor Society level grades and test scores, she received acceptance letters from several different schools. Her method of choosing a university had been fairly simple: she wrote all of the names of her options on slips of paper and pulled one from a bowl. Just months later, she was on her way to Rutgers University.

The first few weeks at Rutgers had been a nightmare. She and her dorm mate had clashed on day one, and it made every minute spent in the room feel as it had been an hour. On top of that, she was convinced that there were more people attending the school than lived in the city she came from. This, of course, was an exaggeration, but she couldn’t help but feel like a little fish in a giant pond. It also didn’t help that everyone always seemed to want to comment on her Tennessee accent. No, in the beginning, Brynn Lee wasn’t entirely sure she was going to last four years at this school. But, she not only adjusted, she adapted. Brynn found common ground with her dorm mate, and they were able to sit down and lay out some ground rules to make living together possible. By the end of the school year, they were pretty good friends. Brynn also learned to cover her southern drawl.

Though Brynn still had a love for her country living roots, she enjoyed living in the city much more. In fact, after graduation Brynn decided to stay up north and moved to Staten Island where she fell in love. Lucas Rivers was gorgeous, and he knew it. He also knew that Brynn was absolutely head over heels in love with him and took advantage of that fact in any way he knew how. Used and abused, Brynn finally reached her breaking point and ended the relationship, leaving in the middle of the night.

After freeing herself from the tumultuous relationship, things slowly began to fall into place for Brynn. She quit her lower level job at the accounting firm, landed herself in Tarrytown, New York in a small, single bedroom apartment, and made new friends. She began to rediscover herself and the joy she once had in life. She even met a new guy whom treated her with respect, admiration, and kindness. When she ended up accidentally pregnant yet again, it was an easy decision to keep the baby. They did not marry, but they share all responsibilities in raising their son, Wyatt. Things aren't always smooth-sailing, but they are making it work as best as they can.
